What is the origin of the documents in this archive?
The Chemical Industry Archives consists of documents from the chemical industry itself, most of which were obtained in connection with legal proceedings against the chemical industry. Other documents were obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests to the government. More information about these documents' origins can be found here.

How do you know that the chemical industry's products and byproducts really hurt people?
Many of the industry's own internal documents document the health risks of their products. These risks have been corroborated by independent epidemiological studies on humans, as well as by extensive laboratory testing.

Is this website intended to scare people?
It's a typical industry ploy to claim that its critics are using "scare tactics." We believe that only you can decide whether you should be concerned by the chemical industry's products, or outraged by their behavior.
